Your Role With Us:
As a Lab Client Services Representative at Salem Health, your role would be central to ensuring seamless communication and coordination between the laboratory and its various clients, including physicians, patients, and external partners. You would be responsible for promptly and professionally managing incoming phone calls, fielding inquiries across multiple lab areas, and providing accurate information using reference materials and internal systems like LIS and EPIC. Your duties would include updating recurring lab orders, resolving billing issues in collaboration with billing specialists, and maintaining detailed documentation of all client interactions. A strong grasp of medical terminology and lab testing procedures is essential, as is the ability to troubleshoot technical issues, manage verbal orders, and ensure timely communication of lab results—especially critical values. You’d also play a key role in managing outpatient check-ins, ensuring specimen accuracy, screening lab orders for completeness, and coordinating follow-ups with providers or reference labs. Additionally, you’d handle courier service requests, maintain and update service directories, and act as a liaison for resolving system issues, all while providing high-quality customer service and supporting the lab’s mission of safe and accurate patient care.

Background/Expertise:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
- Prior experience in a medical office or laboratory is preferred.
- Demonstrated customer service experience is required; Prior experience with Laboratory Information Systems and Hospital Information Systems highly desirable.
