Your Role With Us:
Functions:
1. Perform all duties of a Sterile Processing Technician I and II, including decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
A. Inspecting and assembling surgical instruments, equipment, trays and packs.
B. Fills surgery case carts from predetermined listings; may deliver case carts to surgical floor.
C. Identify and report supply, equipment, and procedure problems.
D. Assist in the orientation and continuing education of lower-level Sterile Processing Technicians.
E. Maintains open lines of communication within the department.
F. Assist with and provides for relief for others.
2. Assists with adjusting staffing needs for the department, planning and control of operational functions; assists and instructs in the supervision of specialized technical skill requirements and work performance in the department.
3. An incumbent oversees the work of staff in the absence of management, and assists in planning, organizing and administering the Sterile Processing Department. The work requires knowledge of the policies, procedures and equipment applicable to the work unit at appointment.
4. Provides leadership and supervisory guidance in quality improvement efforts. May be asked to lead quality initiatives.
5. Develops and maintains expert knowledge of surgical service, sterile process, or instrument classification.
6. Participates in cross functional work groups to develop and implement quality improvement projects.

Licenses/Certifications Registrations:
- CRCST or CSPDT certification is required
Experience:
- Minimum of 18 months related experience with surgical instrumentation in hospital Sterile Processing environment.
