Your Role With Us:
In the role of a Protection Officer Lead, the primary responsibility is to uphold safety and security through the diligent operation of weapon detection systems, ensuring strict adherence to the organization's weapon-free policy. This involves not only monitoring entry points for unauthorized access but also liaising with local law enforcement as necessary to mitigate risks. Daily, you must maintain comprehensive logs and reports on security activities, ensuring that all documentation meets department standards. Effective communication is crucial, utilizing radios and phones to relay information swiftly to field officers and management. This role will prioritize exceptional customer service, engaging with patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly manner while addressing any concerns. Regular quality checks of weapon screeners are conducted to ensure compliance with protocols, alongside managing staffing levels and inventory of screening supplies. Additionally, participate in the recruitment process, assist with training, and provide hands-on guidance to new hires, fostering a knowledgeable team that aligns with Salem Health's policies and procedures. Ultimately, the role encompasses a commitment to maintaining a secure environment while supporting the overall mission of the organization.
Your Background and Experience:
- Relevant experience in security, law enforcement, or military police work is preferred.
- Experience in healthcare security and customer service is highly desirable.
- Must possess a current and valid Oregon driver’s license with a good driving record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Dept Public Safety Standards & Training – Grace Period: 1 Month.
- DPSST unarmed certification preferred or obtained within one (1) month of hire.
- SAVE certification obtained within three (3) months of hire.
- NIMS HICS 100, 200, and 700 online certificates obtained within one (1) year of hire.
