Your role with us
Step into an engineer lead role where technical expertise, leadership and problem solving come together to help keep critical facilities and operations running safely and efficiently. Lead and support engineering staff in completing daily assignments, setting priorities and responding to changing operational needs while providing training, guidance and feedback that strengthens team performance. Coordinate projects, preventive maintenance and service requests by partnering with internal departments, customers, project coordinators and engineering leadership to develop action plans and keep work moving forward. Maintain accurate maintenance management records, track labor and materials and ensure time-sensitive work is completed as scheduled. Build strong working relationships through responsive, professional communication while serving as a trusted resource for both staff and leadership. This role offers the opportunity to develop others, solve meaningful operational challenges and make a direct impact on the reliability of the facilities that support exceptional patient care.
What you'll do
- Lead, support and develop staff in completing assignments by providing direction, training and ongoing guidance while offering feedback to leadership on team performance.
- Maintain accurate information within the TMS Maintenance Management Program including labor, materials and completion of time-sensitive assignments.
- Coordinate, track and report on projects, preventive maintenance activities and service requests while partnering with internal departments and external customers.
- Collaborate with project coordinators, supervisors, managers, engineers and staff to establish priorities, develop action plans and keep work progressing efficiently.
- Maintain professional, respectful and service-focused communication throughout interactions with colleagues and customers.
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of two years and be at least eighteen years of age upon hire.
- Must possess a valid Oregon driver’s license and be eligible for authorization according to Salem Health’s Fleet Safety Program policy within three months of hire, maintaining it thereafter.
- Meet Salem Health's Fleet Safety Program MVR standards at time of hire.
- Minimum of six years of building and equipment maintenance or equivalent experience.
Additional information
- Three years’ experience in healthcare facilities preferred.
- A strong applicant will be knowledgeable in many of the aspects of healthcare facility equipment and infrastructure that Engineering Services supports.
- Success in this role is supported by the ability to communicate, lead others, and work well as part of a team.
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ideal candidate will be able to focus on tasks at hand, while having the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
