Your role with us
The Volunteer Services Assistant plays a vital role in strengthening community impact by coordinating the recruitment, onboarding, training, and engagement of volunteers while ensuring compliance with organizational, regulatory and accreditation standards. This position partners with leaders across the organization to support volunteer and student programs, coordinate program operations and logistics, maintain accurate records and reporting and provide administrative support that enhances service delivery and meaningful volunteer experiences. Through continuous quality improvement, effective communication, and data driven program coordination, the Volunteer Services Assistant helps build a highly engaged volunteer workforce that advances organizational goals and exceptional patient and community service.
What you'll do
- Coordinate the full volunteer lifecycle, including recruitment, screening, onboarding, training, engagement, recognition, and retention to build a strong and effective volunteer workforce.
- Partner with department leaders to assess volunteer needs, match volunteers to meaningful roles, and support volunteer and student program growth.
- Manage the day-to-day operations, scheduling, logistics, and administrative functions of volunteer-supported programs while ensuring quality service delivery.
- Maintain accurate volunteer records, communications, reporting, and digital platforms while ensuring compliance with organizational, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Coordinate career exploration, student volunteer, and job shadowing programs to provide meaningful learning experiences aligned with organizational goals.
- Monitor program performance, analyze data, track community benefit contributions, and identify opportunities for service improvement and operational efficiency.
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives by developing standard work processes, maintaining operational readiness, and ensuring alignment with departmental goals and organizational standards.
Required qualifications
- Three years of experience in volunteer services, program coordination, or related required.
- Experience working with volunteers and/or community groups required.
- Two years of office or administrative experience required.
Additional information
- Experience working with students or educational partners preferred.
- Associate's degree preferred.
