The Provider Liaison plays a critical role in building, strengthening, and sustaining relationships that support access to high-quality healthcare across our communities. This is a highly visible, people-centered position for someone who thrives on connection, conversation, and collaboration.
In this newly created role, you will serve as a trusted bridge between healthcare providers, community partners, and internal teams—representing Salem Health with warmth, credibility, and enthusiasm. You will be out in the field regularly, meeting new people, nurturing existing relationships, and helping others understand the value, scope, and impact of our services. Each day brings new conversations, new priorities, and new opportunities to influence outcomes through relationships.

What you'll do
Outreach & Relationship Management:
- Represent Salem Health through regular, in-person visits to referral partners including but not limited to primary care offices, urgent care centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), and specialty clinics.
- Effectively communicate the unique value of Salem Health’s services and deliver targeted marketing materials.
- Identify, establish, and nurture strong referral relationships within our market area.
- Serve as a liaison between the community and Salem Health, ensuring clear communication, satisfaction, and timely resolution of identified issues.
- Represent Salem Health at community events, health fairs, and local networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility, strengthen market presence, and grow relationships.
Outreach Visibility & Reporting:
- Set and maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly outreach goals to support business development objectives.
- Regularly report out on performance against targets and related insights.
- Maintain detailed tracking of activities including but not limited to referral activity, provider feedback, and outreach visits within designated reporting systems.
- Partner with service line and departmental leaders to support growth initiatives by gathering insights, identifying opportunities, and strengthening community provider relationships.
- Analyze surgical volume trends and market share; monitor referral patterns and community provider feedback to help leaders understand trends in patient volume and potential shifts in market demand.
Education & Support:
- Provide and facilitate education to clinical and administrative teams on topics like scheduling procedures, service offerings, referral workflows, and patient care quality.
- Collaborate with internal marketing and operations teams to ensure aligned messaging, efficient referral pathways, and continuous process improvement.

- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the flexibility to adapt from day to day.
- Comfort working with minimal structure, using judgment and creativity to achieve results.
- Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) systems or similar tools for relationship and activity tracking.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout the regional service area for outreach activities.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Three years of experience in business healthcare-related fields.
- One year of experience in medical sales, provider outreach, or healthcare business development.
- Driver’s License: Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of two years and be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire. The license must be issued by the state in which the employee resides. Candidates must meet Salem Health’s Fleet Safety Requirements and maintain eligibility to operate vehicles as part of their role to remain in good standing.
