Your role with us
The desktop tech provides technical support and maintenance for desktop computers, laptops, and printers, ensuring seamless system functionality for healthcare professionals. This role involves troubleshooting, consulting, and resolving hardware and software issues, as well as implementing projects and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to work independently.
What you'll do
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems for customers; providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure system usability.
- Respond to customer inquiries and follow up on customer interactions; ensuring customer satisfaction and resolving issues efficiently.
- Provide consultation and troubleshooting services to support effective work by system users; collaborating with other teams to resolve complex issues.
- Install computers and printers, configuring and testing equipment to ensure proper function.
- Perform warranty repairs on computers and printers; replacing components as needed to minimize repair time.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of desktop calls, fixes, and needed follow-up; ensuring knowledge sharing and continuity of care.
- Participate in Lean activities to reduce waste in work processes; streamlining workflows to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain proficiency in primary applications, various operating systems, and software packages; staying up-to-date with technical advancements and best practices.
- Support project development and implementation, and system maintenance efforts as requested; collaborating with the IS team to drive projects forward.
- Prioritize trouble calls, set timelines, and respond to customer needs using established protocols; managing multiple tasks and priorities to meet customer expectations.
- Work desktop queues in deployment, Windows administration/troubleshooting, projects/moves, and general assignments; providing technical expertise and support across various areas.
- Instruct and illustrate use of software and hardware; empowering users to effectively utilize technology and improve workflow efficiency.
Required qualifications
- Minimum of two years of hands-on desktop support experience setting up new equipment, troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance
