Your role with us
A patient access services dispatcher plays a key role in coordinating and assigning personnel to ensure timely and efficient response to service requests, while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. They support departmental goals through active participation, staff training, and by promoting a culture of teamwork, reliability, and accountability. Through excellent customer service, thorough documentation, and adherence to safety protocols, the dispatcher ensures high-quality service delivery and optimal patient and staff satisfaction.
What you'll do
- Coordinates and assigns personnel to ensure timely and efficient service delivery, maintaining response times and team productivity.
- Monitors and maintains a clean, organized, and safe dispatch environment, ensuring equipment is in proper working condition.
- Supports departmental goals by attending meetings, assisting with managing overtime, and acting as a reliable and professional team member.
- Delivers excellent customer service by promptly responding to requests, communicating effectively, and fostering positive relationships with patients, staff, and visitors.
- Maintains accurate documentation by keeping records up to date and managing scheduling needs to ensure full coverage.
- Promotes workplace safety by following safety protocols, reporting hazards, and understanding infection control and transport practices.
- Provides training and guidance to dispatch staff, helping with orientation, ongoing education, and performance improvement initiatives.
Required qualifications
- One (1) year experience in a high functioning customer service position.
- One (1) year in healthcare experience needed.
Additional information
- Experience supporting a patient care environment strongly preferred.
- Experience in dispatch is preferred.
