Your role with us
The supervisor of lab client & courier services oversees daily operations, providing technical expertise and guidance to staff while ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and laboratory procedures. This role involves developing and implementing quality assurance programs, training initiatives, and staff development, while also assisting the manager with strategic planning and performance assessments. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, laboratory knowledge, and excellent communication abilities.
What you'll do
- Supervise and develop staff, including providing feedback, assessing performance, and conducting annual reviews.
- Develop and implement quality assurance programs, including quality audits and compliance with accreditation standards.
- Oversee training and competency development for staff, including creating training programs and ensuring experienced staff train new employees.
- Assist with strategic planning, goal-setting, and performance monitoring, including producing regular reports.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures, policies, and information systems, including maintaining up-to-date manuals and downtime procedures.
- Foster a culture of quality and safety, including investigating and following up on patient safety alerts and promoting continuous improvement.
- Perform client services and courier duties as needed, setting high standards of performance and serving as a resource for laboratory and hospital information systems.
Required qualifications
- Associate's degree in a health or biological science or related field.
- Three years of related work experience in a laboratory area of comparable complexity and services, exhibiting extensive and current knowledge of laboratory operations.
Additional information
- The ideal candidate will have experience in team process, quality management, and problem-solving, as well as laboratory information system/hospital information system experience.
- Candidates in this role will need strong communication, project management, and analytical skills, with the ability to develop reports, investigate problems, and provide consultation.
- Successful candidates will have thorough knowledge of procedures, safety precautions, and regulatory standards.
- Individuals in this position will need to be able to provide training and orientation programs for team members and assist with continuing education opportunities.
