Your role with us
As a senior member of the sterile processing team, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are expertly decontaminated, assembled, and sterilized to the highest standards. You’ll collaborate with surgical teams, support quality improvement initiatives, and guide lower-level technicians while managing complex vendor instrumentation workflows. This position is essential in maintaining patient safety and operational efficiency in a fast-paced surgical environment.
What you'll do

Perform all Sterile Processing Tech I & II duties, including decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment.

Inspect, assemble, and prepare surgical instruments, trays, and packs.

Fill and deliver surgical case carts based on procedure requirements.

Identify and report equipment, supply, or procedural issues.

Assist in training and supporting sterile processing staff.

Follow policies and standards for biological/chemical monitoring, safety, and infection control.

Clean and decontaminate used items using manual and mechanical methods.

Assemble, sterilize, store, and handle surgical instrument trays and supplies.

Maintain expert knowledge of sterile processing practices and instrument classification.

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects.

Coordinate vendor instrument sets for surgical cases; manage check-in/out and documentation.

Collaborate with OR staff and verify usage instructions for all loaner instruments.
Required qualifications
- Must hold either a current Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification OR a current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification.
- Minimum of two years related experience with surgical instrumentation in hospital sterile processing environment.
