Your role with us
As a Medical Assistant, you play a vital role in supporting both patients and providers by ensuring each visit is safe, efficient, and compassionate. From recognizing critical changes in a patient’s condition to preparing them for surgery and providing thorough discharge instructions, your work directly influences patient outcomes and satisfaction. You help maintain the flow of care, coordinate physician orders, and document thoroughly—making you an essential part of a team dedicated to high-quality, patient-centered care. Your attention to detail and clinical skillset elevate the overall experience for those you serve.
What you'll do

Assess patients, monitor for changes in condition, and alert physicians to critical or life-threatening situations.

Obtain patient history, document vital signs, and reassess after interventions.

Prepare patients for procedures by providing pre-operative instructions and assisting with surgical scheduling.

Support clinical operations by taking patient photographs and maintaining accurate photo records.

Execute and document physician orders, anticipate diagnostic testing needs, and coordinate care appropriately.

Perform waived lab tests, ensure medication safety, and maintain clinical competency.

Deliver thorough discharge instructions, coordinate referrals, and provide resource information to patients and families.

Maintain exam room cleanliness, restock supplies, and check equipment and medication expiration dates regularly.

Accurately document patient interactions, manage refill requests, and assign charges in Epic Ambulatory.

Adapt to patient flow needs and collaborate with team members to support consistent and efficient care delivery.
Required qualifications
- Must hold current medical assistant certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or equivalent.
Additional Information
- BLS(Basic Life Support) required within 30 days of hire.
- The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a healthcare setting.
