Your Role With Us:
- Acts as a primary contributor to the design and implementation of information security solutions based on customer and/or organizational requirements; Participates as an individual contributor on assigned project tasks as well as planning and leading designated Information Security projects.
- Maintains an accurate, up-to-date, and well-documented ticket queue; Consistently provides documentation around area of support based on department and organization standards; Continuously monitors, audits, and improves Salem Health’s compliance with the HIPAA Security Rule.
- Coordinates and performs information security software or hardware maintenance tasks within area of responsibility according to vendor and industry standards; Assists with the design of security and user access controls for Salem Health’s Information Systems.
- Performs analysis and troubleshooting to resolve complex information security incidents not resolved by the user or tier I support; Assists other analysts in resolving information security incidents; Performs analysis and troubleshooting to resolve information security problems and incidents for Salem Health.
- Provides input into developing standards and requirements for new information security products/services and assists in assuring that new purchases fall within this structure; Committed to understanding developments of products and industry improvements for specific assigned areas of expertise; provides input on developing plans for improvement and program maturity.
- Communicates and models the importance of the organization’s Information Security Policies and Procedures; Proactively works to identify and correct root causes of information security incidents to prevent future recurrence and promote continuous improvement.
- Assists in reporting security analysis results using multiple tools including Microsoft Office products; Configures and/or installs new information security-related hardware and/or software dependent upon area of responsibility.

Background/Expertise:
- A Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field is preferred, OR the candidate may have Eight (8) years of related work experience, OR an Equivalent combination of education and experience where each year of education equates to two years of experience, such that Four (4) years of experience substitutes for an Associate's Degree, Eight (8) years of experience substitutes for a Bachelor's degree, with a maximum of two (2) years of experience that can be from well-respected security-related certifications.
- CompTIA Security+ certification can substitute for one (1) year of experience.
- Higher-level security-related certifications like CEH or CISSP can substitute for two (2) years of experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years of IT, Healthcare, or related experience is required, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience within the given technology or knowledge field related to this position.
- Completion of Kaizen basics course within first year of employment; Base understanding of Lean preferred.
- CompTIA Security+ or higher-level (e.g. CISSP, CEH, etc.) certification preferred; Industry standard proficiency within the given content area of expertise to be obtained within one (1) year of hire.
- Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills Solid communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work in department and interdepartmentally to articulate ideas, negotiate resolution of issues, and achieve objectives Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other productivity tools and assigned applications and technologies Strong working knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office Suite, ITSM Tool, assigned applications and technologies.
