Your Role With Us:
Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics is seeking a full-time Adult Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the growth of our Discharge Ready Unit (DRU). You’ll enjoy a 7 on/7 off work schedule with 12-hour shifts (7a-7p), where you can expect to be rounding on patients along with handling some discharges and internal transfers. The APPs in the DRU are surrounded by a robust support team including RNs, LPNs and CNAs. You will not have to run codes or take on any procedure/vent-management responsibilities, as we have a closed ICU, excellent rapid response team, and collaborative ER colleagues.
Background/Expertise:
Nurse Practitioner:
- Possess a master’s degree or higher in Nursing, or in a field deemed to be equivalent by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
- Have satisfactorily completed a Nurse Practitioner Program recognized by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
- Hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon.
- Hold a current, unencumbered Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
- Hold valid, unencumbered NP national certification issued by a nationally accrediting body.
- Hold DEA certification.
- Have at least 12-months relevant NP experience in a hospital setting, within the expanded specialty area within the past three (3) years.
- If the Nurse Practitioner does not have the relevant hospital experience and cannot otherwise document current competency, a monitoring plan may be required.
- Hold current American Heart Association ACLS certification.
Physician Assistant:
- Graduation from a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors, e.g., CAHEA, CAAHEP.
- At least 12 months relevant experience as a Physician Assistant caring for inpatients during the past three (3) years, required.
- If the Physician Assistant does not have the relevant hospital experience and cannot otherwise document current competency, a monitoring plan may be required.
- Successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE)
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current PA license in good standing issued by the Oregon Medical Board (OMB).
- Current DEA registration.
