Our Gynecology Oncology Clinic is excited to welcome a skilled and compassionate Gynecologic Oncology Physician to our growing team. This is an opportunity to practice full-spectrum gynecologic oncology in a collaborative, patient-centered environment where advanced technology and exceptional care go hand in hand.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive care across both clinic and surgical settings, supported by dedicated weekly OR time to ensure continuity and efficiency of care. You will be comfortable utilizing robotic-assisted surgery and other advanced techniques to deliver high-quality, minimally invasive treatment options for patients.
You’ll join a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team committed to excellence, innovation, and compassionate care. Working with a physician associate, you’ll have the opportunity to extend your impact, mentor and lead, and help shape the delivery of care within the program.
This position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients while practicing at the top of your license in a supportive, forward-thinking environment at Salem Health.
Current Surgery Block is on Monday’s (2 open and 2 Robot days). The second Tuesday of the month is a Robot day.
GYN Oncology
The Salem Health GYN Oncology team provides highly collaborative, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment that supports complex surgical, inpatient, and outpatient needs. Providers work closely with surgeons, oncology staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination, compassionate patient education, and timely support throughout the cancer care continuum. The department values professionalism, flexibility, communication, and a culture of teamwork that prioritizes quality improvement, patient safety, and an exceptional patient and provider experience.
What you’ll do
- Provide comprehensive gynecologic oncology care in clinic and surgery, including dedicated weekly OR time.
- Perform history and physical examinations, consultations, colposcopy, and other office-based exams and treatments.
- Beacon chemotherapy management with our Gyn Onc team and infusion team
- Recommend and coordinate treatment plans, refer patients to appropriate sources of care as needed, and develop a referral base for gynecologic oncology patients.
- Perform indicated surgeries and provide post-operative care and routine follow-up.
- Provide inpatient coverage, including rounding, consultations, and care for assigned patients in acute and post-acute settings.
- Participate in call coverage with the practice call group and provide emergency coverage to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of clinical care in the electronic medical record, including H&Ps, operative notes, progress notes, discharge summaries, and documentation supporting appropriate level-of-service billing.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources while supporting clinical pathway implementation and compliance.
- Assist in the development of Gyn Onc service policies, protocols, order sets, and patient education handouts, and participate in office management tasks related to scope of practice and clinical quality.
- Engage in organizational responsibilities, including attending Section Meetings, POC Meetings, and SHMG Town Halls, and participating in Quality Management and Peer Review activities as requested by the CAO, SHWV.
Required experience
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Graduated from an approved school of medicine.
- Completion of an accredited residency program in OB/GYN
- Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Gynecologic Oncology.
- An unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Oregon.
- Current DEA certificate
- Board-certified / board eligible in Gynecologic Oncology
- Chemotherapy management
- Robotics training
