You’ll partner closely with physicians, clinicians, and leaders at every level while building strong relationships with external partners such as brokers, underwriters, and claims professionals.

What you'll do
- Guide the administration of our insurance program, including captive management, self-insured coverages, and claims coordination.
- Develop and support our systemwide risk management program, balancing prevention, coverage, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with leaders on contracts and projects, ensuring risks are managed and insurance requirements are met.
- Oversee claims and investigations involving professional liability, general liability, and worker’s compensation.
- Support medical and clinical staff with guidance on professional liability and medical/legal matters.
- Offer just-in-time coaching for staff and physicians, including preparation for patient/family disclosure discussions.
- Lead and mentor a dedicated team, fostering growth and collaboration.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or health-related field.
- Five years of risk management experience; preferably in a healthcare system.
Additional Information
- The strongest candidates will have experience that spans beyond managing risk for clinics and critical access hospitals only, with preference toward experience managing risk for an independent health system working with a captive.
- Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Manager (CPHRM) preferred.
- Oregon Adjustor – General Lines must be obtained within six months of hire.
- Ability to read and understand Epic medical records highly preferred.

RN residency program
