Your Role With Us:
You will play an essential role in patient care and interaction as an Occupational Therapist on the Salem Health team. Your confident communication style will enable you to operate within an excellent team of patient care professionals where your individual abilities are both respected and rewarded. You will work independently as well as collaboratively, maintaining a positive, professional demeanor while prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines. Core Functions:
Evaluation and Treatment – Using evidence based standards and measures, the evaluation reflects an organized assessment based on the patient’s diagnosis, presenting signs and history. Develops a treatment plan that reflects the objective findings of the evaluation. Involves the patient/family in establishing measurable and functionally based goals. Utilizes evidenced based treatment strategies with attention to patient safety to progress patients toward goals.
Documentation and Billing- Documents within the time frame specified within each program area. Documentation reflects patient response to therapy interventions, progress towards goals, and supports each billing entry. Submits complete and accurate charges on a daily basis.
Caseload Management- Proactively manages caseload, optimizes access, and identifies barriers and opportunities to support daily therapist efficiency to meet the demand. Flexibility and a cooperative effort is required which may include working outside of your home department to meet the patient need when requested. Direct and delegate tasks to the rehab aide appropriately in program area.
Regulatory/Compliance- Understands and follows regulatory and compliance standards as well as licensure guidelines related to department area.
Clinical Competence- All licensed professional staff are expected to maintain clinical competence within the scope of practice. Competency is defined as demonstrations of expertise as required by individual departments.
Performance Improvement- Integrate lean tools for department continuous performance improvement activities.
Communication- Timely and effective communication is expected within department guidelines.

Background/Expertise:
- Graduate of a program approved by the Committee on Accreditation in Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience or clinical rotation in department specific area required.
- Holds a valid license to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Oregon or is license eligible.
- Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire required.
