The Women’s and Children’s Float RN Staff Nurse at Salem Health is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, quality healthcare with a family centered care approach to patients by stabilizing the family unit through safety and security. This nurse has a knowledge of growth and development and pathophysiology specific to infants ,children and post-partum to assess, plan, teach, intervene, and evaluate appropriately. The WCS float nurse is skilled in procedures and use of equipment specifically designed for this patient population.

Background/Expertise:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science degree or non-nursing Bachelor’s Degree with MSN for Salem Health applicants.
- Current and unrestricted Oregon RN license.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months of hire required.
- Neonatal Adv Life Support (NALS) within 90 days of hire required.
- The STABLE Program within 12 months of hire required.
- AHA's Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabil preferred

Begin your journey from student nurse to confident practitioner with our RN Residency Program. The program features a combination of didactic lessons, simulation, and track-specific class options.
