Your Role With Us:
Salem Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Foot and Ankle team in our Orthopedics clinic. The Orthopedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for providing medical care as stated in their Collaboration Agreement. This position will work with the healthcare team to ensure the highest quality of care for patients. The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for providing medical and surgical services that are within their scope of practice, based on the provider’s education, training, experience, and competence.
You may be a qualified Physician Assistant candidate if you:
- Have graduated from a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors, e.g., CAHEA, CAAHEP.
- Have passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) and are certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Current PA license in good standing issued by the Oregon Medical Board (OMB).
- Hold DEA certification.
- Maintenance of American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE)
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Current PA license in good standing issued by the Oregon Medical Board (OMB)
- One (1) year of experience as a surgical Physician Assistant preferred.
- One (1) year of experience in orthopedic surgery practice preferred.
You may be a qualified Nurse Practitioner candidate if you:
- Possess a Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing, or in a field deemed to be equivalent by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
- Have satisfactorily completed a Nurse Practitioner Program recognized by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
- Hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon.
- Hold valid, unencumbered NP national certification issued by a nationally accrediting body.
- Hold DEA certification.
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or National Certification Corporation (NCC), or an equivalent Medicare/Medicaid approved certifying body, or be actively seeking certification and obtain the same in the specialty area requested within 24 months of privileges being granted at Salem Hospital.
- Must be able to demonstrate experience in the specialty area in the past 24 months. If this requirement is not met, an onboarding plan may be developed for review and consideration.
- Hold current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- One (1) year of experience as a surgical Nurse Practitioner preferred.
- One (1) year of experience in orthopedic surgery practice preferred.
